A lively young man was happily coming home after his training, to find his parents murdered and his younger sister missing. It was under this tragic atmosphere that the story began.Mikage (CV: Nojima) was a "beautiful" samurai who met the pirate Sasaki (CV: Miki) while traveling on the small boat. Sakaki returned to his island and had a feast with his fellow pirates and among them was his childhood friend - Jyurou (CV: Narita). There, he once again mentioned the legendary treasure map his grandfather got before fleeing the island where he was enslaved. All along, Sakaki did not completely believe in the authencity of the map. At the same time, Jyurou was in love with Sakaki and wanted to "hold him" when there was a loud noise outside. The samurai Mikage was chased by some mysterious men. When Sakaki saw it, he joined in the chase because he wanted to settle the "dispute" earlier with Mikage but the latter finished off those in pursuit beautifully with a few moves, though he suffered some injuries. Turned out those men were sent by the evil "Natou (CV: Shinpachi)", who wanted to capture both the parts of the map Mikage had as well as Mikage himself. During the confrontation, Sakaki saw the map and pieced it together with the fragments he had and was surprised to find out that the treasure his grandfather was talking about was not just a legend but real! At this point, Mikage snatched the map from Sakaki but the latter cut his hat to reveal an extremely beautiful face! Mikage then escaped but his leg was still injured and worse, he met Natou again by the riverside. Of course he couldn’t beat Natou in such a state but then Sakaki and Jyurou came in time and saved Mikage and brought him back to the pirate’s camp. At the camp, Mikage was struggling to break free and when Sakaki tried to touch that beautiful face, Mikage was very scared. Sakaki then ordered Mikage’s injuries to be taken of and continued to think about the treasure map. Sakaki’s sister tried to tend Mikage’s wounds and that night, Mikage dreamt about his sister again, crying in his sleep. When Sakaki brought Mikage dinner and saw tears rolling down that beautiful face, his heart seemed to sink. When Mikage woke up again, everyone was excited about him and wanted to ask him many questions as it was quite rare to see someone like Mikage. (Funny spoiler) Pleasant moments never last and soon Natou brought his men to harrass Sakaki and his fellow pirates. Sakaki thought of a plan to defend but he never anticipated Natou would be as dirty as to use children and women as hostages vv. To save the people on the island, Mikage sacrificed himself and left with Natou. On the boat, Natou told Mikage that he really was the son of the ruler (as his mother was the princess) but Mikage refused to claim the noble identity. That night, Mikage was forced to attend the feast but he was surprised that Sakaki and his pirates came in disguise to save Mikage. While they were pulling off an escape, Sakaki was injured and fell into the sea. Mikage also tried to jump in (though he couldn’t swim) and Sakaki had to save him instead ~.~. The two got onto the shore but couldn’t find anyone. So, they just spent some time alone on the island, with Mikage explaining about his past, his mother who perished and how he was brought up by the family next door. He also said that when his foster parents were murdered, his sister Midori went missing and he was trying to find her. His only hints was that map fragment. He also mentioned how he was tricked and betrayed by his friend (CV: Taniyama) who worked for Natou and eventually was raped by Natou ;_;. Anyway, Sakaki comforted Mikage and had some hot smex with him assuring it wouldn’t be the same like Natou ^^;; The two managed to spend some sweet moments together. The next day, Sakaki set out to attract the attention of his beloved cros Shirokuro. At first, Mikage was a bit suspicious as to the effectiveness of attracting the attention of the crow from that distance but the bird was really clever and so, both of them were saved and Mikage joined Sakaki’s crew. This concludes the main story. There is also a side story that touched on the relationship between Jyurou and Sakaki (but I skipped it as I only listened for Mikage’s sake, sorry.

Kachou no Koi is a revolutionary drama CD because it is based on a collection of 4 coma manga. The story revolves around the life of a 33 year old kachou (head of the department) Kazuhiko (CV: Okiayu), who has never been able to have dramatic, romantic love, after a tragic past affair. Also, for 33 years he did not recognize his own sexual orientation despite the fact that he did not have much interest in women, as reflected from the absence of women in his poster or desktop wallpaper and his habit of frequenting a gay bar. However, all begins to change as he gradually falls in love with the innocent and extremely cute colleague - Harada (CV: Nojima). The two gradually began to fall in love but of course there are challenges along the way, especially the problem of who’s the seme and who’s the uke. Finally, the couple overcome all these problem and got married *O* (yeah, in a gay bar). Along the way, we are also introduced to the owner of the gay bar - Mama (CV: Konishi) and the doctor who disliked homosexuals (and who examined Kazuhiko), Emoto (CV: Shibuya). In addition, there is also the "gay of gay" and haraguro (double personality) Kumakai (CV: Kamiya), Chappi (CV: Itou), the wicked toy that appears to be cute and innocent but can say the most ridiculous and filthy words and hates females, as well as the good subordinate Itou (CV: Hirakawa).

I shall review it via the two storylines rather than the timeline of the drama CD. Shion (CV: Yamaguchi Kappei) quiet boy who was invalid and confined to bed. He prayed to God and his prayers were answered as he was healed. However, he discovered that there were two scars on his palm and those were known as the "sacred scars". Seems like whoever possesed these scars would be special and resepected. However, in reality, Shion finds himself more "feared" by his fellow classmates, which made him feel quite lonely. One night, he happened to meet Wong (CV: Ishikawa Hideo) while he was returning to his room from confession. Wong just visited the room of his master - Emilio (CV: Nojima Kenji). Since students were not permitted to leave their room after sleeping time, Wong reported to the president of the student dormitory and Shion was scolded. As a result, Shion was angry at Wong but the latter unconsciously said that if Shion were afraid, he could sleep with him at night and Shion really came to his room. Since then the two slept together (in a non-ecchi way). Graduallly, Shion and Wong were comfortable with each other but their relationship could not progress "further" because Shion’s scars would become painful. At the same time, a classmate was aiming to kill Shion because he wanted to be the chosen one. Of course, Wong came in time to save Shion and the two finally moved to the final step. The second story was between Emilio, the good-for-nothing child of a wealthy man. Wong was sent to accompany Emilio in the school as a bodyguard (though he served for "other" purposes as well). Emilio is very seductive and has no sense of decency in his dictionary. Consequently, he would seduce anyone, including the poor servant of god - the Priest (CV: Morikawa Toshiyuki). Pardon me but I really don’t want to go into the details ^^;;. Step by step, Emilio led the father onto the path of "sin" but surprisingly, in the end, the father had to leave but he promised to wait for Emilio to graduate (and then what? >v<) and in the meantime, they have telephone sex a long distance relationship.

The story began with a flashback scene when Seikanji Kunitaka (CV: Chiba Susumu) and Ryouichirou (CV: Okiayu Ryuutarou) were still children. Kunitaka was the eldest son of the Seikanji family, a rich and noble family which was engaged in a variety of industries and the most successful branch was textile manufacturing. Kunitaka injured himself when falling off a tree because he ignored the warning of his servant, Ryouichirou (whom Kunitaka referred to as Ryou). Although Ryou covered Kunitaka so that his injuries would be minimized, Kunitaka still wounded his face. When the adults saw Kunitaka’s injuries, they quickly put the blame onto Ryou and beat him badly. Kunitaka tried to stop but he was powerless as he was still a child. Since that day, he secretly vowed to stay with Ryou forever but he was then separated from Ryou. Kunitaka wanted to be with Ryou but that was impossible given the differences in their background and social status. Years later, Kunitaka grew up and became an army officer. Since he was the eldest son and also a very responsible person, he naturally carried the burden of the Seikanji family on his shoulder, especially as his father, the Count Seikanji Fuyuki (CV: Kamiya Hiroshi) did not seem to care about the family at all. Day by day, he only locked himself in his room where he played with men and guided them to destruction. This monster "who feeds on sper*s", had destroyed endless families both within and outside of Japan. His father also had a lover, Fukushuumi (CV: Yusa Kouji), whose title in the family was "his father’s secretary" but in reality, he was the lover and also the father figure of the Seikanji family. His brothers was close to Fukushuumi but Kunitaka refused to admit his existence in the family and was always cold to Fukushuumi. Like his father, the second son Seikanji Kazutaka (CV: Nojima Kenji) also did not care about the family and spent most of his nights attending parties and was notorious for sleeping with anyone - men and women. Luckily, the third son Michitaka (CV: Fukuyama Jun) and the youngest daughter were not like their father and second brother. Everyday, Kunitaka had to run around trying to get funds to support the family because business was not going very well, especially when the society of Japan at the time was under a state of political unrest. Stressed by the responsibilities of an "old and reputable" family which was really crumbling to pieces both psychologically and financially, Kunitaka was glad to meet his childhood companion Ryou once again - on the street by chance. In the reunion, they chatted and the two caught up on the events that happened in the time period when they drifted apart. Kunitaka’s affection toward Ryou never changed and but he was uncertain about Ryou because he appeared to be slightly different from the Ryou he knew as he seemed to have secrets. When Kunitaka went to the place where Ryou was working, he found magazines banned by the government because they were anti-imperialism and anti-war. One night, Ryou brought Kunitaka to the matsuri (festival) of the common people (something Kunitaka never had the chance to see before as he’s of noble descent). Then, Kunitaka began to notice that Ryou now was really different from the Ryou he once knew. Later on, Kunitaka found out that Ryou was blacklisted on the government’s rouster because he opposed to war. Should Ryou be caught, he might be jailed. Kunitaka went to his acquaintance Asano (CV: Kazuma Yuuto) to investigate the truth and turned out Ryou really joined the antiwar campaign and was actually a leader in the movement. Ryou was not satisfied with the current political structure in Japan and would like to change it. In Japan then, owing to class differences and unequal wealth distribution in the society, rich and poor people suffered alike. While workers in the factories were starving to death (especially when many companies started to move their factories to China to cut cost), the nobels were just wasting their money and time at extravagant balls. Kunitaka was heartbroken when he knew Ryou was really a part of the antiwar campaign but he would not abandon his affections for Ryou, not even if they had different views. Kunitaka went to find Ryou to seek confirmation from Ryou’s mouth. Kunitaka tried to offer his own body to Ryou in order to stop him from continuing the antiwar campaign but Ryou was a bit bitter at the time and thought Kunitaka simply was hungry for sex, like his father and younger brother. He then slept with Kunitaka in a rough manner, probably hurting Kunitaka (but worry about Kunitaka along the way) <– BAKA COUPLE. In order to save Ryou, Kunitaka went to Asano again to ask for information. Asano then said he would help Ryou should Kunitaka use his body as condition for exchange. Kunitaka did not want to but in order to save Ryou, he still obeyed and provided "oral service". He did not want to admit but it seemed his father’s blood really flowed in him as he would react to such "dirty behaviors". (Note: Kunitaka was obsessed with cleanliness so it’s a bit strange he would go so far to engage in such sordid deeds). Kunitaka then went back to Ryou to ask him to stop the anti-government movement this weekend. He even slept with Ryou. When Kunitaka went home, he heard there was a murder and the police suspected Ryou or he was framed for the murder. Kunitaka panicked and so he went to beg the man whom he hated a lot - his father’s secretary, Fukushuumi. Fukushuumi was surprised that Kunitaka - who hated him so much would come to kneel before him for just a servant (the son of the drvier). Fukushuumi then spent two weeks and finally got Ryou out of prison. When Ryou and Kunitaka met again, Ryou actually told Kunitaka that initially he wanted to use Kunitaka to get information because Kunitaka was an army officer. However, his love for Kunitaka (since childhood) did not die out yet and so he made a gamble. He purposely appeared before Kunitaka once more. Should Kunitaka recognize him, he would give up his ideal (of building a new country) to protect Kunitaka. However, if Kunitaka could not recognize him (meaning Kunitaka had already changed), he would then use Kunitaka to get information. Kunitaka recognized him and so he chose to give up his ideals for Kunitaka. In the end, Ryou and Kunitaka decided to pretend they died and fled the country, leaving everything behind them (Kunitaka - his good-for-nothing family, and Ryou - his precious comrades in the socialist movements). Both Kunitaka’s brother (Kazutaka) and Ryou’s friends blamed them for neglecting their duties. However, out of love, his comrades could not kill Ryou even when they had the gun in their hands. Similarly, Kazutaka could not stop Kunitaka and together with Asano, tried to cover up Kunitaka’s escape from Japan and pretended he was killed on the batttlefield. In the booklet, Izumi sensei wrote a little story about Ryou and Kunitaka settling in a very poor region in Shanghai. They wanted to flee to Europe but they did not have enough money. Even though they were very poor and living among the peasants, they were happy because they had each other.
